With More Incentives, Cognizant To Expand In Charlotte

The Fortune 500 technology company Cognizant is expanding its Charlotte operations by 300 jobs. Cognizant provides information technology, consulting and business process services, and helps companies offshore business operations.

The state’s Economic Investment Committee approved a Job Development Investment Grant of $2 million for Cognizant over 12 years. Mecklenburg County is also awarding Cognizant a five-year, $87,000  grant.

It’s at least the second time Cognizant has received state incentives. The state agreed to give the company $5 million dollars four years ago when the company announced it was opening its Charlotte office and expanding statewide by 500 jobs.
