Charlotte Fire investigators believe a Family Dollar in east Charlotte was intentionally set on fire early Monday morning — and it’s the third time this year.
Firefighters were called to the Family Dollar on The Plaza at 3:22 a.m. Monday. The fire was brought under control by 4:05 a.m., according to a news release on social media.
The fire caused an estimated $1.4 million in damage. No injuries were reported.
Investigators say it’s the third time the business was targeted by fire in recent months. Charlotte Fire urges anyone with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Tips can be provided anonymously.
