The Matthews and Charlotte Fire Department is responding to a major gas leak that led to an explosion at the intersection of Pleasant Plains Road and Morningwood drive.
According to officials several houses in the area have been evaluated. MFD is asking for residents to avoid the area. At the time of this writing no injuries have been reported.
