Daniel Boone Native Gardens Fairy Day

Daniel Boone Native Gardens Fairy Day

Fairy Day in the Daniel Boone Native Gardens is back Saturday July 8, 2023 from 1-5pm. This annual event is $2 for adults, and free for children and those dressed in fairy/elf attire, and is the Gardens’ largest annual fundraiser. New this year, a costume contest will be held at 2pm for the best dressed fairy and elf/woodland creature, with portraits by Bill Barber for the winners. And, with the winners’ permission, the portraits may also be used for some of next year’s Fairy Day promotional materials.

The Watauga County Library, Watauga County Arts Council, The Children’s Playhouse, and the Blue Ridge chapter of NC Native Plant Society will be stationed in the gardens providing hands-on activities. Create lasting memories with a photo op with Ayla the Dreams Fairy as well as Fairy Brucie Abella while you stroll through the gardens to music by Mary Greene/others, or find a new perspective with intuitive guide, Catherine Walters.

Enhance your fairy flair with Fake a Face painting, fairy hair, and henna painting. Among our vendors are: jewelry by Upcycled Everything, Barefoot and Brazen, Faeriefoots’ Doors and Gifts, printmaking by Andi Dandelion, High Country Crystals, and Peace of Green Succulents. Enjoy Stickboy cookies, Lou Lou’s Cotton Candy, Big Brose Family BBQ and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. More vendors TBD with a portion of their proceeds donated directly to the gardens.

Come enjoy an enchanting, fun event for all ages while supporting the Daniel Boone Native Gardens located at 651 Horn in the West Drive in Boone. For more information or to volunteer contact Sharon: fairyday@danielboonenativegardens.org
