Long Leaf Pine Award losing its luster
One of the highest honors the state of North Carolina can give to a civilian is called the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. Only the governor can name you to the order, and many have considered it quite prestigious over the years. But the Raleigh News and Observer reported this week that so many people have received the honor recently that the Long Leaf Pine honor is in danger of losing its luster. WFAE's Julie Rose spoke with one of the first people to receive it, John Hagler of Raleigh.
