Chris Henry jumped, fiance says

Charlotte Mecklenburg Police are still investigating last month's death of Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry. Police have only said that he came out of the truck driven by his fiance', not whether he was tossed or jumped out. But his fiance' is now speaking out. Loleini Tonga says that Henry jumped out of the back of the truck she was driving in northwest Charlotte. Tonga spoke to ESPN for a program called "Outside the Lines." "He jumped from the back (of the truck)," she told ESPN's John Barr. "I know I wasn't going fast at all because I was trying to drive slow because I knew he was in the back standing up." The couple was arguing shortly before noon December 16th when she drove away from her family's home on Peachtree Road. Henry jumped in the back of the truck, and he came out about a half-mile away on Oakdale Road. Henry died of head injuries the following morning. Tonga told ESPN that Henry may have been scared because someone in a vehicle behind them was calling police. Tonga is a 2002 graduate of West Charlotte High School. The couple was visiting her parents while he was recovering from an injury sustained this season.
