CMPD: Man Shot Mother, Wife, And Daughter, Then Killed Himself

WSOC - TV
CMPD investigates fatal shootings at the Woodland Park apartments in east Charlotte.

Updated Sunday 1:25pm

A man fatally shot his mother and wife Saturday morning, before turning a gun on his 12-year-old daughter and seriously injuring her, according to CMPD. Police say it appears 37 year-old Antioco Andrade Chacon then shot and killed himself.

CMPD first announced the shooting at the Woodland Park apartments in east Charlotte Saturday morning and Sunday morning identified Chacon as the shooter and his victims as 61-year-old Asuncion Chacon-Perez and 37-year-old Marina Bravo Aguilar.

Police say Chacon  was dead when they arrived at the scene. His daughter remains in critical condition at Carolinas Medical Center. CMPD is not releasing her name because of her age.  Detectives are not looking for any additional suspects in this case.

These two homicides brings the total number to 84 this year.  Last year, Charlotte had 69 homicides.

Updated Saturday 6:35 p.m.

Three people have been killed and a fourth person critically injured during a shooting at an apartment complex in east Charlotte.

Initial information gathered by CMPD suggests the shooting was domestic related and that the victims and the suspect were known to one another. The names of the victims are being withheld until police can notify their families.

The shooting took place at the Woodland Park apartments on Kilborne Drive.  Police say they are not currently looking for a suspect.

CMPD was first notified of the incident at 8:40 a.m. Saturday. Homicide detectives are now canvassing the area to determine whether there are any witnesses.

The shooting came several hours after another fatal shooting at a 7-Eleven on Westinghouse Boulevard. Police say a male employee who’s believed to have been working at the time of the incident was shot and killed.

The gas station and convenience store is located off I-77 just north of the South Carolina-North Carolina border near Carowinds.

Police were called at 3:21 a.m. by a customer who had entered the store to shop. Upon arriving, officers found the man’s body lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds. Police later identified him as 55-year-old Khaled Elmerkabaoui.
