Despite some recent high-profile shootings, police in Charlotte are reporting a drop in homicides in the first six months of 2023. It's part of a national trend in cities across the U.S.

Sevhn Robinson lost her son in a 2017 shooting in east Charlotte. On Saturday, she led other families who've lost loved ones to gun violence in a march for change.

Overall, violent crimes are down 5% but with one exception. This year marks another triple-digit year for homicides in Charlotte.
