Neighbors At East Charlotte Apartments Call 911 Seeking Help For Same Symptoms
Fifteen people in the same apartment complex in east Charlotte were transported to the hospital on Sunday evening after complaining of similar symptoms. According to MEDIC tweets, they were all at the Forest Hills complex off Albemarle Rd. and W.T. Harris Blvd. At least one case was serious, but none appear life-threatening.
A neighborhood event Saturday night seems to be “a common theme” among the people complaining of illness, said MEDIC.
Five calls came in by early Sunday evening. Four of the 5 callers requested Nepali translators. MEDIC ended up sending a mass casualty bus to canvas the neighborhood and treat any other people.
At around 9:15pm, MEDIC said it was still receiving calls from more people exhibiting symptoms.
