York County Sherrif's Deputy Accused Of Sexual Misconduct, Criminal Activity

York County Sheriff's Office

A York County Sheriff’s Deputy was fired Tuesday following allegations of sexual misconduct and criminal activity, according to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office.

York County officials said they received allegations on July 8 that Deputy Christopher Gage had possibly “engaged in conduct unbecoming of a Sheriff’s Office Deputy,” including an extramarital affair, providing money in exchange for sexual favors and abstaining from serving an outstanding warrant.

York County Sheriff Kevin Tolson said he fired Gage as soon as some statements made by the complainant were corroborated.

“I take all allegations of officer misconduct very seriously,” Tolson said. “Gage’s conduct is reprehensible and will not be tolerated this in this office.  This former employee’s behavior is not a reflection of the good work of other YCSO deputies.”

Gage had been with the York County Sheriff’s Office since March 2017.

Officials said Gage has taken into custody by State Law Enforcement Division agents, who have taken over the criminal investigation into him following standard procedure. The Sixteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office will prosecute the charges against Gage.
