Two Killed In South Charlotte Triple Shooting Early Sunday; 21-year-old Dies In Saturday Shooting

A 15-year-old girl and 51-year-old man were shot and killed early Sunday morning in a south Charlotte home. A third person was also shot and has life-threatening injuries.

Police say they were called to the scene at 3:53 a.m. When they arrived, they found Matthew Allen Chaplin and the 15-year-old dead. The name of the third person has not been released. The identity of the 15-year-old is being withheld because she’s a juvenile. A CMPD release does not say if the victims are related. 

The shootings occurred in the 11400 block of Glenn Abbey Way. It’s near the Providence Country Club. No arrests have been made.

Saturday Shooting
A 21-year-old man died in a shooting late Saturday afternoon. CMPD responded at 3:53 p.m. to reports of a shooting along West Sugar Creek Road in north Charlotte. When police arrived, they found Tyshawn Izayiah Rodney Levar Boyd along the side of the road with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at Atrium Main hospital.
