Man Shot, Killed In Charlotte Monday Night

Police in Charlotte say a man was shot and killed Monday night on the city’s north side.

The man’s girlfriend called 911 after finding him shot to death in a home in the 6200 block of Elliott Drive , between Sunset Road and Sunset Hills Public Golf Course, about 9:30 p.m., according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The man had been shot multiple times. As of Tuesday morning, his identity had not been released, and police hadn’t provided any information about what could have led to the shooting.

The man’s death is the 107th homicide CMPD has investigated this year. It’s the deadliest year in Charlotte since 1993, when there were 129 homicides reported. Last year, there were 57 homicides.
