Missing Baby Found Dead In East Charlotte Cemetery

Matthews Police Department

A missing 6-month old Matthews boy was found dead in Sharon Memorial Park cemetery, CMPD said Saturday, and the Homicide Unit is investigating.

Chi-Liam Cody Brown-Erickson was found at approximately 4 a.m. Saturday by officers at the east Charlotte cemetery at Sharon Amity and Monroe roads.

An Amber Alert had been issued for Brown-Erickson on Friday evening when the child's mother, 30-year-old Tamara Jernel Brown, was arrested at about 10 p.m. following an incident near Galleria Boulevard, Matthews Police said.

Her baby was not with her at the time of her arrest.

Matthews Police said that Brown and Brown-Erickson were reported missing at about 10 p.m. Thursday evening, and that Brown was possibly suffering from a mental health disability. She was last seen walking with her baby in uptown Charlotte at about noon Friday.
