Myah Davis

Dr. Myah Davis currently serves as the Head of Lower School with Charlotte Lab School, a tuition-free public charter school in uptown. Myah has spent the last 12 years in education, serving in several roles. She began her teaching career as an 8th-grade Social Studies teacher in Mississippi. She worked in Texas and Louisiana schools before arriving in Charlotte, North Carolina, as an Assistant Professor of Elementary Education at Winthrop University. Myah has also worked with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools before joining the staff at Charlotte Lab School.

Myah holds a B.S. in Social Science Education from Jackson State University, an M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Mississippi, and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of North Texas. Myah’s research interest focuses on culturally relevant and competent education. She has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at several education conferences throughout the U.S. Her passion is teaching and leading teachers who are willing and able to understand and highlight the cultural differences in their students to provide an excellent educational experience.

In her free time, you can find Myah reading a great book, watching movies, cooking, or playing games with her husband, Allen, and their two daughters, Amiya and Mileah.
