Rev. Jesse Jackson to lie in state at South Carolina Statehouse

In South Carolina, the body of the Rev. Jesse Jackson will lie in state Monday at the South Carolina Statehouse in Columbia.

The honor comes at the request of Jackson’s family and numerous members of the South Carolina General Assembly. Gov. Henry McMaster has directed that flags at the Statehouse be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset Monday in tribute to the civil rights leader.

Jackson died last week at age 84.
