Today, a conversation about a man many of us grew up with – Mister Rogers. In his iconic cardigan sweater and sneakers, the late Fred Rogers was remarkably influential in the world of early childhood education through his television show.
"Mister Rogers' Neighborhood" was groundbreaking for its simplicity and earnest mission: to provide intelligent programming for children. With honesty, compassion, and kindness he talked to kids like adults, even about tough subjects.
Mister Rogers made an impression on many of us and the lessons he imparted endure today. A new book by Charlotte author Gavin Edwards examines his influence. He joins us as well as Rogers' biographer Maxwell King to talk about the life, lessons, and legacy of everyone’s favorite neighbor.
