  • Perhaps no other music genre tells us more about love in all its varied shades than jazz. From its openly sentimental ballads and teary torch songs to its fiery declarations of new love and playful odes to significant others, jazz numbers hit all the marks. This month, the Ziad Jazz Quartet – with guest vocalist Toni Tupponce – evoke the many moods of love for Valentine’s Day with a playlist of jazzy love songs including “Better Than Anything” by Al Jarreau, “I Turn To You” by Kirk Whalum, and “On The Sunny Side Of The Street” by Nat “King” Cole. Toni Tupponce will be accompanied by Ziad Rabie (saxophone), Noel Freidline (piano), Al Sergel (drums), and Ron Brendle (bass).
