Architecture And Urban Design In Charlotte
Charlotte often gets a bad rap for its lack of good architecture around the city, but there are newer structures cropping up that are starting to turn that feeling around. The Bechtler Museum building is one of those new, innovatively designed buildings, which opened back in 2010. The building is only the second public building in the country designed by renowned Swiss architect Mario Botta. Today, the Bechtler opens an exhibition of Botta’s work around the world, and so we’ll talk about urban design and iconic buildings worldwide and in Charlotte, and what architecture can do to shape the texture of a city.
