The Carolina Panthers gave the region an early Christmas present on Sunday – a 36-30 overtime win over Arizona in the team’s home finale. Chuba Hubbard ran for 152 yards and two touchdowns including the game winner. Coach Dave Canales was glad to snap a four-game losing streak after several close calls.
"Being able to run the ball with toughness right there, you know, we're in a great situation for a field goal and Chuba ends up breaking a few tackles and, and scoring right there. So it was, it was a great thing to celebrate with the guys and just, to reemphasize, you know, playing football right, doing right longer is the way we finished and so, was really happy about that," he said.
The Panthers also knocked Arizona out of playoff contention with the win. They’ll visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sunday and close out the season the following week at Atlanta.
