The Coca-Cola 600 is the longest race of the season with 400 laps or 600 miles that usually takes about four and a half hours to complete.
Christopher Bell drives for Huntersville-based Joe Gibbs Racing. He won the All-Star Race last weekend at North Wilkesboro and won the Coca-Cola 600 last year. Bell spoke more about the upcoming race.
"Yeah, I mean, Charlotte is such a fun racetrack that it's easy to look forward to, but 600 miles is no joke and it is very difficult to stay focused and make sure that, you know, your body is in good condition to be able to compete at the end of that race. So it's a really, really big event. It's a long event and definitely one that you, you got to prepare for, but you can't just show up and, and run."
Preliminary events start Friday evening and the 600 is Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
