2025 Charlotte Primary Election Results

Newcomer J.D. Mazuera Arias defeated incumbent Charlotte City Council member Marjorie Molina in an intense race to represent District 5 on the eastside, eking out a 37-vote victory in unofficial results.

Charlotte Mayor Vi Lyles won an easy primary contest Tuesday, as expected, and is heavily favored to win her fifth term as Charlotte mayor in November.

Neighborhood activist Joi Mayo won the Democratic primary for Charlotte City Council District 3 Tuesday, defeating incumbent Tiawana Brown, who was indicted in May.

Krista Bokhari on Tuesday won the Charlotte City Council District 6 Republican primary, defeating Sary Chakra.
