Los Lobos first gained national attention with its 1987 runaway hit “La Bamba.” And while that's a great song, it doesn't do the band's career much justice. This is a truly fantastic rock band which has accomplished much more than one huge hit.
On its 13th album, Tin Can Trust, Los Lobos once again deftly meshes rock 'n' roll and the blues with the sounds of its members' Chicano heritage. One of the highlights this time around is vocalist/guitarist David Hidalgo, whose smooth, soulful tone really stands out among the fray.
