Portions of Union Street in Concord are reopening after more than 18 months of construction on its new streetscape project that widens sidewalk areas through the city’s primary downtown corridor. Most of the work is expected to be complete before next weekend’s annual Christmas tree lighting ceremony and parade.
Concord officials said southbound Union Street is now open to one-way traffic between Cabarrus and Barbrick Avenues.
