An early morning fire damaged an apartment building on Winter Oaks Lane on Thursday, July 10, 2025.

Six people were injured early Thursday in a two-alarm fire at an apartment complex on Winter Oaks Lane near South Boulevard and Sharon Road in south Charlotte.

The Charlotte Fire Department said it responded around 5:30 a.m. and found heavy fire coming through the roof. A second alarm was called as crews worked to contain the blaze.

Firefighters brought the fire under control in about 40 minutes. MEDIC reported that six people were taken to local hospitals, including three with life-threatening injuries. No firefighters were injured.

The Charlotte Fire Investigation Task Force is working to determine the cause of the fire.
