NCAA Rules and UNC Charlotte Athletics College athletes, coaches and the NCAA have made headlines several times over the last few months for reasons other than performance on the field and the winning of titles. Coaches, players, and even supporters of college athletics have drawn fines and penalties from violations of NCAA rules. On top of it, there's a debate on whether college athletes really pull their weight as students and whether they ought to be paid for their performance. The NCAA recently called a group of college leaders and athletic directors together for a retreat to discuss significant and swift reform to NCAA rules. We'll be joined by the Chancellor and Athletic Director from UNC Charlotte, who were at that meeting, to talk about the problems with college athletics and some of the solutions that NCAA leaders hope will bring sports, and not controversy, back to the forefront in college athletics headlines.
