UNCC: Supreme Court's Travel Ban Decision May Hurt International Recruitment

UNC Charlotte

The Supreme Court's 5-4 decision to uphold President Trump's travel ban from seven mostly Muslim countries has college enrollment officials at UNC Charlotte concerned about the message it sends.

The school has roughly 2,600 international students. University officials say about 90 are from the seven countries. Joel Gallegos, UNCC's assistant provost for international affairs, and Denise Maderos, associate director in the international student and scholars office, talk to WFAE's Gwendolyn Glenn:

Gwendolyn is an award-winning journalist who has covered a broad range of stories for local and national media. She voiced reports for National Public Radio and for several years was a producer for NPR’s All Things Considered news program in Wash., D.C. She also worked as an on-air contract reporter for CNN and has had her work featured in the Baltimore Sun and The Washington Post.
