Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police are investigating a fatal shooting Wednesday morning in north Charlotte. Police say it happened just before 5:45 a.m., when someone fired shots into a home on Ohaus Court, off Sunset Road.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene with gunshot wounds. Police have identified him as 16-year-old Jayvon Christopher Goolsby.
No further information was available. Police say they're searching for witnesses.
It was the 54th homicide of the year in Charlotte. There were 57 in all of last year.
