The autopsy and toxicology reports for a Charlotte man shot and killed by a Charlotte Mecklenburg Police officer earlier this year have been released.

The autopsy report confirms that 27-year-old Danquris Franklin was shot three times, once in the left arm and twice in the abdomen. No alcohol was found in his system.

Franklin was shot by CMPD officer Wende Kerl in March in a Burger King parking lot in west Charlotte. Kerl said she perceived a lethal threat after asking Franklin to drop his weapon numerous times. Although another officer was with her during the time of the incident, Kerl’s body camera is the only available footage.

The Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s office is still reviewing the case.
