McCrory Set To Make Transition Announcements

Pat McCrory says he’s moving quickly in preparations to take over the governor’s office.  He plans to announce his transition team tomorrow.

North Carolina will soon have a Republican governor and Republican majorities in the state house and senate.

At a press conference Wednesday, McCrory said he’ll reach out to leaders of both parties.

“I don’t want to make the mistake of any party, which is become arrogant with your power and majorities.  I think that’s a huge mistake that both parties have made in the past and I don’t want that to occur in the future,” said McCrory.

He says he hasn’t promised jobs or favors to any one or region.

Once McCrory takes over, it’ll be the first time in more than one hundred years that Republicans have controlled North Carolina’s executive and legislative branches.

McCrory’s Campaign Manager Jack Hawke says that will make for an interesting change of roles.

“It means we Republicans who never get along are going to get along.  We’ll have to learn how to govern, instead of criticize who’s governing,” says Hawke.

McCrory takes over for Perdue in January.
