Retired Chief Deputy Rodney Collins announced his candidacy for Mecklenburg County Sheriff. Collins spent 30 years with the Sheriff’s Office. He was in the Air Force before joining law enforcement.
Sheriff Garry McFadden has not yet announced whether he’ll seek re-election next year.
Other candidates include former detention Officer Antwain Nance and CMPD Sergeant Ricky Robbins.
