One of the great untold stories of American history: the decades-long movement of Black citizens fleeing the South for northern and western cities. They were searching for a better life. From 1915 to the 1970s, 6 million people made that move and, in the process, changed the face of America and many of its cities.
Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Isabel Wilkerson told this untold story in "The Warmth of Other Suns." She does so by focusing on three unique individuals as they make a sometimes treacherous cross-country trip to their new homes. She shares the epic story of America’s Great Migration.
