Creatures of the Night & Bonfire Delight
Embrace your nocturnal side at Grandfather Mountain through Creatures of the Night and Bonfire Delight, the park’s after-hours program where guests enjoy rare after-dark tours, fireside tales and a chance to meet the park’s nighttime residents. Hours are 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The event is open to 50 participants, and tickets are $40 for general admission or $34 for Bridge Club members.
54th Annual Girl Scout Day
Girl Scouts are invited to join the park’s naturalists for a fun-filled learning adventure on Grandfather Mountain. Plus, all Girl Scouts and troop leaders are admitted free with proof of membership (all or part of a uniform or a troop roster with the leader’s name on it), and family members will receive discounted admission ($1 off child admission and $2 off adult admission). Advance reservations for park admission are not required, meaning scouts, troop leaders and family members are welcome to arrive the day of the event without admission tickets already in hand.
EQUALibrium Live: From Africa to America - A Spiritual Musical Journey-POSTPONED
2/27/2025 - due to unforeseen circumstances, this event has been postponed.
"From Africa to America: A Spiritual Musical Journey" will take you on a powerful journey through song, history and hope.
Featuring narration by Frank McGinnis and music by the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church Men's Ensemble, this event honors the resilience and musical contributions of the Black community.
2025 Charlotte Brewfest
Celebrate National Beer Day at Charlotte's signature beer festival, coming April 5th!
Enjoy unlimited sampling of beer made by 25+ national, regional, and local craft breweries. There will be a vast selection of lager, IPA, ale, fruit beer, and even cider to taste. A great place to enjoy all your favorites in one location and discover new beers that are making their way to the beer scene.
Charlotte Brewfest is NOT only for the beer aficionado. While beer lovers play an instrumental role in making this event a Charlotte staple, everyone can enjoy a great party! There will be delicious food from some of Charlotte's most popular food trucks, incredible live music, and a variety of activities to enjoy.
Carolina Pro Musica: Beautiful Baroque
Carolina Pro Musica presents the music of J.S. Bach in concert of March 28, 2025, 7:30 pm at St.
Mark’s Lutheran Church, 1001 Queens Rd, Charlotte, NC 28207. Canadian British bass-baritone
Andrew Mahon, whose recent performances include the Academy of Ancient Music,
Westminster Abbey and St. Paul’s (London), joins Rebecca Miller Saunders in
J.S. Bach’s duet from Cantata 140. Mahon who is currently the Chapel Master at St. Joseph’s
College and Seminary in Mt. Holly will be featured in Bach’s Cantata 82 Ich habe genug with
strings, continuo and baroque oboe. Come celebrate the close of our 47th season.
Charlotte Grilled Cheese Festival
Enjoy a fun twist on America's Favorite Sandwhich with an incredible lineup of melty, cheesy goodness paired with delicious drinks from 2 Craft Breweries, a Tito's Bar, Bloody Mary Garden, and Mimosa Bar.
There will also be live music, fun activities, and some awesome vendors to keep you entertained all day.
Grab a friend, or 10, and come party with us this spring while supporting a great cause. Proceeds from the event benefit AltruSpirit, a Charlotte non-profit that will provide athletic programming for at-risk/financially disadvantaged youth in our area.

Free live music, food trucks and drinks, and hands-on art experiences are coming to Symphony Park six times this spring at SouthPark After 5, a weekly free entertainment and happy hour series happening every Thursday from April 17-May 22, 2025.

Queen City Code Quest
Discovery Place and Bank of America are proudly hosting their Spring 2025 QC Code Quest. High school students, currently in grades 9th – 12th, from Charlotte and the surrounding area are encouraged to participate! This year's QC Code Quest will encourage students to collaboratively develop and sharpen their computational thinking and design skills through a digital 3D rendering challenge brought to you by Discovery Place’s Youth Development Department. You can register individually or register as part of a team of no more than 3. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and prizes provided. With only 60 slots for registration, register for this FREE now!

Black Family Wellness Expo
The entire community is invited to come out for a free Black Family Wellness Expo. Healthcare and wellness providers will offer free health screenings, information on mental health, wellness tips and lots of information and resources on how to live a healthier lifestyle -- physically, spiritually and mentally. We’ll also have activities for kids, provide information about maternal health and vaccinations for people 18 years of age and older. Bring the whole family and enjoy music, entertainment, healthy snacks, giveaways, and free parking. Black Family Wellness Expo 2025 is hosted by the Charlotte (NC) and Piedmont (NC) Chapters of The Links, Incorporated.
Building Futures Affordable Housing Symposium
Building Futures, Habitat Charlotte Region’s annual advocacy event bringing together community and industry experts, amplifies the affordable housing challenge faced here in greater Charlotte. Learn how racism and inequity continue to affect marginalized groups, limiting their ability to secure safe, affordable homes.
This free event takes place on Wednesday, March 26th at Central Piedmont Community College’s Dale F. Halton Theater from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Matthews Playhouse invites audiences to explore the magical world of Willy Wonka’s iconic chocolate factory this February with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, a musical adaptation of Roald Dahl’s beloved 1964 novel. This enchanting production will come to life on stage February 21-March 2, 2025 at the Fullwood Theatre in Matthews, NC, offering a sweet and unforgettable adventure for the entire family.

**The 2 p.m. performance on March 1, 2025 will be a Sensory Friendly show. This performance will accommodate families with children with sensory sensitivities, on the autism spectrum, and/or with a cognitive or developmental disability while keeping the spirit and the integrity of the production intact.
2025 Carolina Lily Quilt Show
Charlotte Quilters’ Guild Hosts 2025 Carolina Lily Quilt Show
CHARLOTTE, NC—The 2025 Carolina Lily Quilt Show will be open to the public on Friday and Saturday, March 7 and 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Park Expo and Conference Center. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for students with no charge for children ages 10 and under.
The show will feature more than 200 judged quilts, a craft market with local and regional vendors offering fabric and other quilting-related goods, a boutique selling hand-crafted gift items made by Guild members, and a raffle with multiple prizes. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
The Charlotte Quilters’ Guild, formed 46 years ago by eight women, now has more than 150 members who meet regularly in person and by video. The mission of the guild is to promote the art and craft of quilting through fellowship, education, and outreach. In addition, each year members volunteer their time and talents to make hundreds of donated quilts for hospitalized infants and children and for adult cancer patients. The Guild also distributes patriotic quilts to wounded veterans through its “Quilt for Soldiers” program.
Membership information and application forms to join the Guild will be available at the Show.

In-Person Lecture: Can We Heal Like Jesus?
This talk discusses Christian Science and how it explains the practical application of Jesus’ teachings in daily life, for anyone, including through physical healing. Alexandre explores examples from the Bible and shares personal testimonies of healing, all pointing to the fact that God is not far off, but here and now. We’re all capable of understanding this for ourselves, of genuinely feeling infinite, ever-present Love, which is God, and helping others do the same.
Romantic Expressions
The Charlotte Symphony and Queens University present Romantic Expressions. Join the Charlotte Symphony at Queens University of Charlotte’s Gambrell Center for an evening of beloved masterworks interwoven with poetry celebrating the theme of love. Students from Queens will bring the music to life with poignant readings of their original works paired with lush melodies from the Romantic era and early 20th century.
Sing Me a Story
Every person has their own story of love, hardship, joy, and the memories that make us. This concert explores the queer experience through choral art songs — poems set to music for choirs. Featuring works exclusively by queer poets and composers, this program will celebrate the full spectrum of queer identities, from resilience to love.
Parking: Free parking available at 163 W. 9th St. between Church and Tryon Streets.
Runtime: Approximately 1h, 40 minutes including a 20-minute intermission. Snacks and refreshments will be available during intermission with donations encouraged.

As the cold night settles in on February 22, Supportive Housing Communities (SHC) invites you to Queens University for the inaugural Warm Soles Night Walk—an inspiring opportunity to step into the shoes of our neighbors experiencing homelessness.
This immersive event raises awareness and funds for SHC, helping provide warmth and essentials to our neighbors facing the harshest conditions of winter.
