Discovery Place Turns 30
Discovery Place Turns 30 City leaders created the Charlotte Nature Museum in 1951 to help urban familys resdicover the natural world. From that bright, but modest, beginning grew the idea to establish a true learning center outside the confines of the normal class setting. Thirty years after the Nature Museum came along, Discovery Place was born. In the 30 years since, Discovery Place has grown up to be one of the most visited science centers in the Southeast. We'll help Discovery Place celebrate its 30th birthday and learn about the history and importance of Science and Technology Centers in America. Join us for a special birthday party with Discovery Place.
