Freemasons and Shriners of Charlotte One of the oldest, and perhaps most mysterious, organizations in America is the Freemasons. Many of our founding fathers were Masons and conspiracy theorists love to debate the power and influence of the fraternal organization during the creation of our democracy and in the centuries since. The order is alive and well in Charlotte as are the Shriners, a group made up of the highest order of Freemasons.
