How Much Is Enough? A Living Wage For Charlotte


  Fifty-nine percent of the occupations in Mecklenburg County pay average wages below $35,000. Some people make below that at minimum wage of $7.25 an hour, about $14,500 a year. Other cities around the state have enacted some form of living wage for their residents, but not Charlotte-Mecklenburg. Why not? What does the N.C. Justice Center define as a living income standard?
