3D printing is coming into its own as manufacturers and individuals find more uses for it. NASA astronauts have printed out needed tools at the International Space Station using this technology. Doctors hope to use it to create body parts. Some pioneers have even printed food. We meet some folks who are doing innovative things with it and get an update from the Rock Hill company hoping to revolutionize manufacturing with 3D printing.

Buddy Byrum - Vice President of Product and Channel Management, 3D Systems, a 3D design-to-manufacturing solutions company based in Rock Hill, S.C.

Claire Gutermuth - Senior at Davidson College, she has used 3D printing to design and build hand prosthetics for kids

Dr. Terence Fagan - Chair of Engineering Science and Fab Ed Carolina, Engineering Technology Division, Central Piedmont Community College

Dr. Binil Starly - Associate Professor of Regenerative Medicine, Dept. of Industrial and Systems Engineering at NC State University
