We are already a few weeks into the annual flu season and everyone is being urged to get their flu shot. If you recall, last year’s vaccine was only moderately effective because of a virus mutation. As a result, flu cases rose.  What’s the outlook for this year, for the vaccine and for the severity of the flu season?  We find out from Mecklenburg County’s health director and a vaccination expert. We’ll talk about a few other public health concerns as well.

Dr. Marcus Plescia
- Mecklenburg County public health director

Dr. Leonard Friedland - director of Scientific Affairs and Public Health at Vaccines North America, GSK (GlaxoSmithKline)
