'The Story Of Autism'
When a Mississippi toddler was sent away to an institution nearly 80 years ago, there wasn’t a name for his odd behavior. The boy’s mother thought he was insane. A few years later, he would become the first-ever diagnosed case of autism. Several decades would pass for public awareness to catch up and even for the medical community to get a handle on it. ABC’s John Donvan has written a book chronicling that journey. He and his co-author share that story.
