Friday, January 5, 2018

On the next local news roundup, weather leads the New Year’s news with frigid, single digit temperatures and (for some) snow.  The cold hits the city’s homeless population hard and there have been multiple power outages as well.  The Panthers suffer a disappointing loss to Atlanta setting us up for a difficult playoff this weekend.  And there are updates on the Panthers sale, a county land swap and judicial redistricting.  Our roundtable of reporters joins Mike Collins to detail those stories and more.

On the local news roundup...

Weather in the Charlotte region has turned frigid, with temperatures in the single digits, and for some, snow. Those frigid temperatures have hit Charlotte’s homeless population hard, and there have been multiple power outages as well.

The Panthers are still in the playoffs but a win against the Falcons would have set us up better.  Now we take on the Saints in New Orleans. How do we look for our first playoff game this weekend?

And speaking of the Panthers, an update on what we know about the upcoming sale of the Panthers.

Mecklenburg County Commissioners OK a land swap in the county- we'll go over the details.

And the latest on judicial redistricting

Those stories and more with Mike Collins and our panel of journalists  during the local news roundup on Charlotte Talks.
