Charlotte Talks: NC Environmental Update
Tuesday February 20, 2018
On the next Charlotte Talks, we get an update on some of the key environmental issues facing North Carolina. Mike sits down with a panel of reporters and environmentalists to discuss some of the important issues in 2018.
This could end up being an important year for environmentalists in North Carolina.
At the forefront is the continued controversy surrounding GenX, a chemical that polluted drinking water in parts of the state last year. Questions remain on how many were affected and how leaks occurred.
The State House voted unanimously to increase pollution funding, but some say it isn’t enough. Then we look at where we stand with offshore drilling, concerns about the recently approved Atlantic Coast Pipeline that will cross 8 counties and ongoing worries about coal ash – and more.
