Charlotte Talks: Helping Those In Need This Holiday Season
Tuesday, November 20, 2018
United Way of Central Carolinas has a new CEO. Guest host David Boraks sits down with Laura Clark to discuss the United Way's mission, and how the organization is helping those across Charlotte’s many neighborhoods. Also, what other social service organizationsare doing as winter approaches.
The holiday season is upon us already, and that means it’s a good time to look at what Charlotte is doing to help those most in need. United Way of Central Carolinas and its new CEO, Laura Clark are doing just that.
We also hear from guests with different social service groups here in Charlotte to discuss larger issues such as how the funding landscape has shifted in the past year, and what funds will look like in the new year. How will crucial grants, or the lack of grants, affect homeless shelters and food programs in Mecklenburg? This is especially important as we move into the holiday season, when those services are critical.
