Charlotte Hornets waive Leaky Black

The Charlotte Hornets have waived Concord native and former North Carolina Tar Heel Leaky Black.

The 25-year-old defensive specialist averaged 2.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game with the Hornets last season and played with the team in Summer League games last month.

He played at Cox Mill High School in Concord before his college and pro career.

His first job after graduating from Appalachian State University was news reporter at The Daily Independent in Kannapolis. Along the way he’s covered everything from murder trials and a national political convention to high school sports and minor league baseball.
