The Charlotte Hornets came away from Monday night’s NBA draft lottery with the fourth overall pick. Duke’s Cooper Flagg is widely expected to be the top overall pick, but Hornets Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Jeff Peterson says the team will still get a player who can help.
"Clarity definitely helps, you know, up until this moment, everyone was just, you know, a ton of anxiety just waiting to see where we would be picking, but, but yeah, now that we know that we're picking 4, it'll help, clear some things up in terms of just conversations with other teams and, just continue the process, as we're here with the, with the draft prospects of the combine, so we're really excited," he said.
Team officials will remain in Chicago this week for the NBA Draft Combine, interviewing and observing players.
The draft itself starts June 25.
