N.C. State Fair

The North Carolina State Fair opened on Thursday, Oct. 14 after a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic. WUNC was there to capture the atmosphere in photos.

People attending the 2021 N.C. State Fair, which begins Oct. 14, won’t be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19, but officials say it’s strongly encouraged.

The North Carolina State Fair announced it would reserve a special day for people with sensory aversions that can find the traditional noises and lights difficult to deal with.
