The Charlotte Bobcats fired head coach Mike Dunlap Tuesday.
Dunlap took over the worst team in NBA history when he became head coach last summer. The Bobcats had just set the record for the worst winning percentage ever, winning just seven of their 66 games during a lockout-shortened season.
But under Dunlap this year, the Bobcats got off to a great start, relatively.
It took them only 12 games – the fewest in NBA history – to match their entire win total from the previous season.
Sure, it's a dubious record. But it was also the high point of the Bobcats' season, as they lost their next 18 games.
After that, the team sprinkled in wins here and there. In fact, the Bobcats won three times as many games under Coach Dunlap as they did the year before.
Still, they had the second-worst record in the NBA.
