A procession will carry the body of fallen Mooresville police officer Jordan Sheldon, 32, along I-85 Tuesday afternoon.
The Town of Mooresville said in a Facebook post, Sheldon’s body will be taken from the Medical Examiner’s office in Charlotte to Hartsell Funeral Home in Concord. On Friday, a procession will carry Sheldon from Concord to Calvary Church in Charlotte for his funeral, according to the town. The procession will then go to the Mooresville Police Department before disbanding.
Sheldon was shot during a traffic stop Saturday night. He was a K9 officer and had been on the Mooresville police force for six years.
The man suspected of shooting him, Michael Aldana, 28, was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in a nearby apartment.
