Ruijuan Guo, a 33-year-old teacher, was killed in 2016 in South End.

A fourth person has been charged in the 2016 South End robbery and murder of teacher Ruijuan Guo, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said Saturday.

Ambrosia Montez Neely, 39, was arrested Friday in Kannapolis with the help of the Kannapolis Police and United States Secret Service, CMPD said. He has been charged with murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robery with a dangerous weapon.

Neely was transported to a local hospital, where he is being treated for a preexisting medical issue unrelated to his arrest. He will be transferred to Mecklenburg County Jail when he is released.

His arrest comes just one week after CMPD announced it had arrested and charged three other men with murder and robery in the 2016 killing of 33-year-old Union County elementary school teacher Guo.

Cecil Lamont Marble, Michael Mandrell Marble and a third defendant already in custody, Keric Teron Watt, were all charged with multiple felony counts Nov. 8, including murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon.

Police say that on Sept. 9, 2016, Guo was attending a concert with her fiance and friends in South End. Upon returning to her car on East Park Avenue, she and her fiance were approached by armed gunmen. Guo was shot, and she died five days later.

A friend of Guo's who was with her that night, Joe Fuqua, was found dead a few days later. Police believe Fuqua helped set up the robbery, knew who the defendants were, and was killed because of it.

Police charged Michael Marble with Fuqua's death in November 2016.
