Alma Adams announced on Twitter that she supports Joe Biden in the Democratic presidential primary.

Charlotte Congresswoman Alma Adams announced Tuesday that she is supporting Joe Biden in the Democratic primary for president.

Adams, a Democrat, said in a Tweet that “Joe can win in 2020 and put an end to the most disastrous presidency in our lifetimes.”

She added that Biden is the “best equipped candidate” to work with Congress to support affordable housing, healthcare and higher education, including historically black colleges and universities.

She said that Biden – the former vice president – is “ready to face the challenges of the Presidency at the drop of a hat.”

The first election to determine the Democratic presidential nominee is the Iowa Caucus on Feb. 3. South Carolina’s primary is Feb. 29, and North Carolina’s primary is March 3.
