The Power Of Mentoring

Big Brothers Big Sisters

Our guests today can tell us from experience that mentoring kids and teens can make a major difference in outcomes in those kids’ lives. Mentors who volunteer their time a few days a month help keep their mentees in school, out of trouble, and give them emotional support in their day-to-day lives. Kids who are mentored, on average, are less likely than their peers to use alcohol, drink, or skip school. We’ll talk about mentoring and what it does for young people at risk, and meet a successful, high profile mentor/ mentee pair from Charlotte.
