Homo Naledi And How We Think About Human Evolution

Since the dawn of time, man has pondered this question: Where did we come from? Scientists have inched ever closer to an answer but we still don’t have all the pieces of the puzzle. And, it seems, each time we get closer, some new finding creates more questions than answers. Such is the case with the recent discovery of a new species, an ancient human ancestor. We talk about that discovery and what it could mean for the human family tree.

Dr. Zachary Throckmorton - Assistant Professor of Anatomy at Lincoln Memorial University's DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harrogate, TN. He is among a select international group of scientists invited to study specimens of Homo naledi and he co-authored the first published analyses of the species
